What is a Cornhole Carpet Bag?

Cornhole bag technology has come a long way in the last few years. Bag makers are using more sophisticated combinations of fabrics and resin fills to help players get the control they desire.

Pro Cornhole bags usually have two types of fabrics with one being a slow side and the other the fast side. Suede in the past has been a popular slow side fabric and it is still largely available from a number of bag makers today. Suede is a slow fabric and is great if you like to play a blocking game or are just a hard thrower. However suede can often times be too slow especially in humid, damp or slow board conditions.

Carpet cornhole bags have now fallen into favor with a majority of players. Carpets bags can still block, roll and cut like suede but can be more forgiving. They are also easier to push than most suede bags.

The fabrics used on carpet bags are mostly upholstery fabrics and are typically made of polypropylene or a combination of polyester and polypropylene. Because of the low melt point of polypropylene the carpet sides of most bags cannot be printed or dye sublimated.

There are also hybrid carpet bags. These bags often have a slightly higher speed ratings and use more traditional materials that can be sublimated.

Pair these fabrics with a fast side fabric and you have a great combination of speeds in one bag. Drop your blocks using the carpet side and then push it with your fast side.

Whether you throw ACO Approved bags or no stamps bags cornhole players will find a multitude of options available to them.

A large percentage of todays top players throw carpet bags for good reason - control and performance.
